Be Sure... Before You Pier!

Blunt talk about foundation repairs.

1. Many foundation repair customers get screwed.

2. Knowledgeable, informed customers do not.

3. Not all foundation contractors are truthful.

4. Piers are not needed, useful or desirable on many homes with foundation movement.

5. All piers are not created equal. Neither are foundation repair contractors.

6. Some contractors sell garbage piers for high prices. Some sell good piers for reasonable prices.

7. Contractors can sell piers for under $400.00 per pier. They just aren't very good piers. Don't choose a foundation contractor because of price alone. Just because they are the highest, lowest or inbetween does not mean a thing.

8. Elevations are misleading. They can't tell if a foundation has settled or heaved. Do not rely on elevations alone for pier placement.

9. If a foundation has heaved above grade, piering the areas that are not heaved can, and usually does, do more damage than good.

10. Every foundation repair person should address drainage and foundation watering on every job looked at. Sprinklers alone do not protect most foundations.

11. Gutters and planter areas cause many foundation problems

12. Each year, thousands of unneeded piers are sold to home owners in North Texas.

13. One unneeded pier will cost at least $400.00 (if they sell for less than that, you sure don't want them).

14. If I save you from getting one unneeded pier you have made money.

15. If I save you from getting a lot of unneeded piers you have made big money.

16. If I keep you from getting screwed by buying the wrong piers you have hit a home run.

17. If I do nothing but validate your choice of repairs, you have cheap piece of mind.

18. My lessons on foundation maintenance are well worth my fee.

19. Call me, we will discuss your concerns. If I don't think I can help you I won't set an appointment

Remember:
With over 150 foundation contractors in the Dallas-Fort Worth area getting three bids give you a one in fifty chance of getting the best job at the right price. I can help you beat those odds.
